Plastic free you
What you can do:

If you're interested in making a positive contribution but are not sure where to start, we have some helpful ideas to get you started.

* Remember your refillable water bottle - you can refill your water bottle in Bingley

* Take a reusable coffee cup and refuse single-use take away cups

* Refuse single-use packaging

* Resist a straw; straws suck - there are plenty of reusable versions available

* Refuse a single-use plastic bag and take your own reusable bag

* Take your own cutlery or use sustainable alternatives

* Avoid single-use plastics in the bathroom

* Refuse single-use condiment sachets

* Make sure you recycle any single-use plastic bottles

* Look for plastic free items for everyday life, such as bamboo toothbrushes, or reusable travel cutlery.
Other ways in which you can help:-

* Encourage local businesses to stop using single-use plastic and explain why - there are many companies that are now producing alternatives

* Please tell us of your successes with businesses as all these will help us towards achieving ‘Plastic Free’ status

* Make full use of all the local recycling facilities already available

* Join in our Community Clean Ups and tell us where you think these should take place

* Use the Terracycle recycling bins for ‘hard to recycle items’ – for beauty packaging (in Boots) and biscuit wrappers (in the library). Watch out for more of these - money made from these goes straight to charity

* Please join our campaign and help us to achieve plastic free status

* Check out how we are doing on our Facebook page or on Instagram.
